Some days you get the bear…

… and some days the bear gets you. A colleague of mine often used this saying and it seemed to fit with these photographs of Bart the Bear and his trainer. Do you recall the film, “The Bear”? It starred Bart who “played the role” of a male Grizzly that befriended an orphaned cub. Training...

Gorilla Twins

Nope, this isn’t a portrait of my brother and me. It’s Macombo and Mosuba, identical twins photographed at the Henry Dorly Zoo in Omaha, when they were 3 years old. It seemed weird to be photographing animals for People magazine, but proved to be a fun assignment, resulting in a favorite photograph. In fact, I’ve...

Cover Shoot a Success

“Can you do a shoot for us tomorrow?” “Sorry it’s last minute notice.” “It’s the Cover story.”… Not the first time I’ve heard these words in the many many years I’ve provided photographs to editorial clients. It’s the nature of the biz. Cover stories are a BIG deal, because the success of the cover dictates...

ABOUT My blog

I'm working hard this year to overcome my love / hate relationship with blogging. Over the years, I've looked at is as a difficult chore, a task to be done on a regular basis.

Guess what? Not many posts were produced. In fact, none in 2023.

Changing up my attitude in 2024. Will post because I have stories to share. When writing about the amazing adventures and experiences from "back in the day", it's fun and often enlightening to relive those memories.

Also posting about present day events and photo subjects allows for "real time' sharing of those experiences.
