Half a Century.

The Big Five-O

A long time anyway you look at it. 

Thousands of photographs taken, sharing lots of stories. Too many to count. Far too many.

But I’ve probably clicked the shutter hundreds of thousands of times. 

Some of those clicks resulted in fine storytelling moments. 

I’ll be sharing some of the images, along with the stories they illustrated and best of all – the backstory too. Those Behind-The-Scenes (BTS) moments have run the gamut from great joy, laughter, fright and dispair, to sadness and even tearful memories. My patience was often tested, and the success of many shoots came from that patience.

First long term assignment. 10 days on set, as the next season of Dallas was filmed, in Dallas, of course. Worldwide anticipation was thru the roof, as everyone wanted to know, “Who Shot JR”?

This first of many People Magazine cover shoots is perhaps one of the images that people are intrigued by the most – at least back in the day. Even now, some remember their parents never missing a weekly episode.

Larry Hagman and I became pals during this gig. He truly loved “hamming it up” for the camera.
